About

This is who I am.

I am a Mother. Four little girls call me “Mommy,” and I can’t imagine life any other way, and hey, without them my blogging material would be quite slim.

I am a Treasure Hunter.  I hold a degree in Classical & Near Eastern Archaeology. Yet, I learned that I loved people more than I loved dead civilizations and I became a missionary instead. Archaeology did, however, take me all over the world. I’ve traveled by plane, ship, boat, bus, taxi and camel-drawn cart and experienced enough adventure for two lifetimes. These days I don’t venture too far from home but I will always be a Treasure Hunter, that illusive beach shell and the local yard sale treasures are always waiting to be discovered. And once in a while, in a magical moment of inspiration, I even find treasure in a string of words.

I am a Survivor. That may be a tale for another day.

This is who I am. I am all these things and more.

I am one who writes.  I write with no agenda. I write simply, and for no other reason than I am compelled to write. I write because I am compelled. I write with the hope that something I have written would cause my Reader to depart from this silly little blog with a smile on their face. I write to touch a chord in a Reader’s heart and to give hope to those who have little or none. I write to bring light to the dark places.

I am one who writes because my life has already been written by the Hand of the Creator and I hope that somewhere in the midst of these feeble written (often ridiculous) words, He would be visible to those with eyes to see.

I have no goal or prize in sight, I write simply to write and display to the world my Clothing of Joy.

  1. Rebecca, I just found your blog this morning and have spent the last few minutes reading posts, laughing, and “liking” every single one. I’m a mom of 3 girls and I look forward to reading many, many more of your posts. Laughter is the BEST medicine and as a mom, sometimes it’s the only thing that keep me sane! 🙂

  2. This might seem odd because I’m not your typical demographic (a 19 year-old college student) but I stumbled upon your blog and found it very inspiring and uplifting. I want to nominate you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. You deserve it! You can find the details here: http://marysaverageadventures.wordpress.com/2014/06/15/the-very-inspiring-blogger-award/ . I know the rules or whatever say that you should follow me, but don’t feel pressured to! I probably don’t post anything that interests you but I just think you deserve this!

    • Aww Mary, Thank you. I’m so glad you stumbled by. It’s funny, I never really think about demographics, etc., I just hope I can bring a smile to my “Reader’s” face. Thanks so much for the lovely nomination!

  3. Today you stopped by my blog and I’m so glad because your “like” on my recent post brought me hear. As a single mom of one for a mere few years back in the day, I am awed by your ability to single parent four children! God has indeed made you unique and special. Thanks for visiting me today.
